Cultural and tourist events in Quang Nam Tourism Year 2006
 The national tourism year “Quang Nam - Two world heritage sites at one destination” will be held Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, ministries and Quang Nam People’s Committee.
With the theme Cultural Heritage, Traditional festivals, Traditional Vocational villages and Eco-tourism, Quang Nam Tourism Year 2006 will last whole year 2006 with various activities in a spacious area from two world cultural heritage sites to traditional villages, attractions and historical relics. Other provinces will also contribute to this event.
June: Tourism month “Hoi An - Summer Feeling”

- Fashion shows “Beach and Summer” and “Hoi An Traditional Costume”
- Sand model making competition
- National volleyball competition

Nine international art troupes to participate in Hue Festival
 Nine international art troupes will take part in art performances at Hue Festival 2006 scheduled to be held from June 3 to 11, 2006.
The Matilda Leyser Troupe from the British Council will perform a play named "Lifeline", which will combine dancing with circus acrobatics. The French Art Troupe will contribute two plays "Drought and Rain 2" and "Enthronement" while the Divestment Classical Dancing Troupe from Russia will present a mixed dancing program.
There will be many other special exhibitions such as Korean royal music, Argentinean tangos, and Australian Wellspring Environmental Art and Design's three-dimensional artwork.
The Hue Festival 2006 titled "Cultural Heritages with Integration and Development" will open in the Southern Gate Square in Hue on June 3, 2006 with many professional art performances, folk games, Hue royal dances and music and fireworks performance by Pierre Alain Hubert, a French artist.
Hue Festival highlights royal music of three countries
 The Royal music of Viet Nam, the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Japan will be performed during the Hue Festival in 2006.
The RoK will send a royal music band from the former capital city of Gyeongyu, while a 15-member Gagaku troupe from Japan's Okinawa will perform during the festival.
The Hue Festival 2006, themed "700 years of Thuan Hoa - Phu Xuan - Thua Thien-Hue: Cultural Heritage with Integration and Development", is scheduled for June 3 - 11, 2006.
Doan Ngo festival (held allover Vietnam)
 Held on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month, Tet Doan Ngo is also called Parasite-Killing Festival. This is a mid-year festival to enhance the prevention of evils and illnesses, and the memory of the ancestors.
Historically the festival takes place during the hottest time of year. When fevers, malaria and all kinds of insects are very common. This is the open ceremony in each family, special it very busy and nosy in countryside. Fruits, steamed - sticky rice, cakes, and liquor are served to ward off these diseases.
In the countryside the farmer is believed that in the tree exist tree's soul, in DOAN NGO day they pray to the tree soul to gives them more crop in the year. If they didn't get good crop, the same day in next year they will ask tree again, but by the other way. Usually son and dad, the son climbs on top of tree and acted like tree's soul and answer questions from dad to promise that this year will be full of crop. The ceremony ended by the dad use a big knife cut on the tree to threat that if you not give me crop, I will cut you down.
The DOAN NGO Tet also get highly promotion from government, because a lots damage insects was killed in a day, and people has more awareness of.
